I have several slides where a learner has to click on an object to trigger an event or to display additional information.
How do you handle this? Specifically, do you give a prompt or directions to the learner to click on the objects to trigger the event? I'm concerned if I don't put the directions, they may be confused on what to do. Putting the directions adds more text to the slides.
When I have audio narration, I include the instruction on what to click, for instance "Click the check box to learn more", or "Select a character to review your role". If I don't have any audio narration, I may just add on-screen text with an arrow.
Sounds like I'm using the standard methods. For the pop-out in the corner - that sounds like general directions if you have multiple objects that are clickable?
Yes, I always use additional visual reminders when the question is any kind other than multiple choice.

Melanie,
Thanks for the input. I've been using an audio icon with text to click to play.
