Glitches with new program

Jan 17, 2017

Hi I'm using Storyline 360 for the first time. I was using Storyline 1 prior to this. I'm experiencing a lot of glitches. The program is crashing. Animated GIFs don't seem to work or are very slow, and if I try to edit a video, the program will stop all together, and I have to reboot to get it to close out completely. I used to have similar problems with Storyline 1, but after being approved for administrator access, all of my problems vanished. Is Storyline 360 similar? Will having Administrator access improve the program's function?

Hey there Rachel,

Glad to hear you're trying out Storyline 360, and I'm sorry you're having such a tough time with it. Does your system meet the requirements listed here, and are you working from your local hard drive?

If so and Storyline 360 still isn't working properly, a simple repair usually fixes the problem.  If you run into any trouble or continue to see this happen after running that repair, it would be best to get in touch with our Support Engineers here so they can work with you to resolve this as quickly as possible.

You certainly don't need Windows Administrator access to use Storyline, but if you have lots of intrusive and atypical restrictions on your user profile, it’s possible you might experience odd behavior.  The Support Engineers might be able to detect some of these issues via an examination of system logs, but if your IT department has some experience with improving functionality by lifting restrictions, it's definitely worth a try.
