Glossary - Highlighting Error
Dec 11, 2017
Hi Heroes!
The past few courses I've published have had an error with the glossary. Anytime the user clicks an entry, the top entry goes into a Hover state. This has persisted for a few versions of Storyline. It's mostly an annoyance rather than a real glitch, but it makes our courses look a little under-tested and unprofessional. I've attached a video showing how it works.
The Hover state on the top entry goes away when I click on another window - i.e. the course is not the active window. You can see this about halfway through the video.
I've only ever tested this in HTML5 exports. Not sure if it happens in Flash as well. It happens in LMS SCORM exports, Web exports, Articulate Review, and even the native Storyline Previewer, so it doesn't seem to be an export error.
Any ideas?

Hi Amy,
Thanks for reaching out here.
That's a software bug we reported to our team recently and occurs when you use a highlight color other than grey - it looks like you're using a yellow. I'll include the discussion here with the report we filed, that way we'll be able to update you once that is released. In the meantime, you could look at using the grey default.
Thanks for the info, Ashley! Glad to hear it's a known issue that's already on your radar. I look forward to hearing about any updates whenever they come.
Is there a specific HEX colour that needs to be used for it to work? I changed it to a grey colour but it still doesn't work so I'm wondering about the colour I chose.
Hi Deb,
The default Glossary Hovered Item Highlight color is #E6E6E6. Let me know if that helps!
