Ugh! We have a client that gave us 700! We were considering using a PDF file for ease of use and putting it in the resources. I thought a long time ago there was a 500 word limit for the text entry, but none for the actual list of terms.
There is a character limit within the glossary (the 500 word limit you mentioned sounds similar) but I haven't seen a total limit on the number of terms. It would be a lot to enter though - so perhaps a PDF is a better option? That way the users can also download it and use offline as well, or have a copy they can print?
You state there is a character limit within the Glossary but you don't state what that limit is. You only refer vaguely to a 500 word limit.
What is the character limit within the Glossary?
Specifically, within each term. I tried to add a 1219 character definition. It accepted it but when I tried to preview any slide, preview did not work. When I removed the term, preview worked.
I gave this a quick test by adding 3 terms each with 1,236 characters (random lorem ipsum text).
I was able to add those in and preview the slides, so it does appear there is no limit, although that's quite a long definition!
Since you're having trouble with this one term and definition, I'm wondering if there is something else unique to it, such as special characters or symbols? Can you share the text here, I'm happy to test it out in Storyline as well.
Also, double check what version and update of Storyline you're using. You can check by going to the "Help" Tab -> "About Articulate Storyline". The latest would be Storyline 3, build 3.5.16548.0 or Storyline 360,build 3.24.17733.0.

Hi Bob,
Great question! I'm not finding a limit documented in the Storyline 360 Glossary Guide here, so you should be a-ok.
Out of curiosity, is there a specific number of terms you were looking to add?

Thanks.
That's a lot of terms!

Just a followup - We went with a PDF to be safe. Plus, the client likes the PDF formatting better.
Thank you for checking Ashley!
