Hi all - I've read here that you can put the Google analytics code into a story.html file so I can track hits. But I can't figure out: HOW do I open the story.html file in order to add my GA code? If I right click on it, I don't have an "open with" option. I tried opening Notepad first but Notepad then wouldn't let me open an html file. And I've tried a few other things. Thanks!
I haven't personally tried this with Google Analytics, so I may not be of much help.
However, it's a bit odd that Notepad won't open the HTML file. I'd make sure that you're opening the story.html file (if you're publishing for Web) and that it's not compressed within a zip folder. If it is compressed, try extracting it first.
Also make sure that the file is on your local hard drive, typically the C: drive.
If you still have trouble, you may want to chime in on this thread:
Thanks, everyone! Christine, you got it right too - it's the fact that I was trying to open the zipped story.html file. Once I extracted it to another folder, I was able to open it in Wordpad. Now I just have to hope I know how to add it back to the zipped doc correctly. :-0
Hi all, do you know if there is a way to insert the code in the .story file on a slide (using execute javascript) so that you don't have to add it into the published files each time you make a change?

Christine can obviously type faster than I can...

Hi Laura,
Wonderful! Glad you're making some progress :D
You should be able to right-click on the extracted file and select "Send to" >> "Compressed (zipped) file".
Just make sure that you name it something else, if you're saving in the same directory, or save it to a different location.
Let us know if you have any trouble with this.
Thanks!
I built a small lib to help with this. See here...

Thanks for sharing Mark.

I'm curious about this as well - I'd like to track individual slides within the Storyline file, and not just the entire project.
