I built a course in Storyline with a quiz. I set the passing grade at 80%. In reporting and tracking in the publish settings, I first tried pass/fail and then tried complete/incomplete.
In SumTotal (an older version), once the learner took the course, though they passed with 80% their transcript said Fail under the grade. However, in SumTotal, I set the passing grade to 80% as well and on the back end, it shows that the learner passed.
Does anyone know if this is a SumTotal issue or a Storyline setting?
Not sure of the issue, but generally in Storyline, I use the option as Completed/Incomplete OR Passed/Incomplete.
SumTotal treats the status Completed, Passed and Failed as completed. So, for scored content where we want the user to be left in progress if they do not achieve the minimum passing score, set the status as Passed/Incomplete.
As per my knowledge, for Passed/Failed - The learner has to re-register.
While uploading SCORM package on LMS, I’m not changing anything on LM; the change is only on Storyline.
However, just check this once with your LMS Admin, if you need anything specific. I’m using SumTotal 17.2, so not sure if there are any other settings for earlier versions.
Looks like Deepak has popped in to assist you here.
For future reference if you ever need to identify if an issue lies within your project or the LMS, we advise to test in SCORM Cloud. If you are able to replicate the behavior, we normally would like to take a look :)
