Graphics appearing differently (wrong) across different OS versions in Chrome?

Nov 01, 2019

I've had several issues with graphics appearing above other content on the timeline or just coming up completely wrong all-together in Chrome but not consistently among all computers and across multiple OS's, attached is just one example of what is happening.

In one image the green highlight is perfectly masked as it should be, but in the other it's just completely disregarded for some inexplicable reason. The logistics of the image are as such; I placed a green box under a png with a cut out region to function as a mask. What appears to be happening is the box is popping on top thereby revealing the green box that should be "masked" under the png with a cut out spot on it.

Here's where it gets weird; the issues exhibit on one persons machine with windows 10, and yet on a separate windows 10 machine it's perfectly fine?!

Any help would be appreciated. thanks!

Hi Jesse,

Thank you for reaching out!

This does seem odd that the green highlighted area changes for different machines. Thank you for sharing those additional details as well! I noticed that you're on an older version of Storyline 3. Could I have you update to the latest version (3.7.20003.0) by clicking here to see if that resolves the issue?

If the issue still remains after updating, I'd like to take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll share my findings with you and delete it when I'm done troubleshooting!

Thank you for responding, but unfortunately I can't update the software
without approval from our lms back-end testing department. We have a few
extra bits that get injected into the output of the storyline online
content and in the past, those updates have broken/rendered anomalies in
our lms. If i get approval to update the software after testing on the lms
I'll follow back up with you on this issue.

Thanks!

Hi, Jesse!

That sounds like a plan, and do let us know if you and your team have any questions about the update process!

In the meantime, I'd also test the content in another LMS environment like SCORM Cloud, a free industry-standard tool for testing SCORM output. This will tell us if the issue is mostly related to Storyline or your LMS' output.

Of course, we're happy to help with that testing! Feel to use the upload links Vincent shared above!
