Green hand question : How do I add state to groups?

Mar 04, 2015

Hello, I have met this question:

I drew many shapes and made them in 2 to 3 groups (forming a whole picture), then I wanted to add mouse hover effect to them as a whole... later I found couldn't be able to add a 'state' to a group, then I tried to ungroup them, the problem is, if I ungroup them, I will get too many shapes, and adding state to them one by one will be huge project!

And then I tried another way, choose one shape, into its state and copy all other elements into it, it works a little bit (at least they appear in state), but they didn't come in the same place they should be in the timeline... I will have to do alignments again, also a huge project...

Could you give me some advices, how can I deal with it?

Hi Jojo

found this tip on a ppt website - it talks about making the text box an image before you group the objects together

1. Click on the text box and copy the text box (Ctrl + C).
2. Paste Special the text box (Ctrl + Alt + V). When you use Paste Special, you will have different paste options. You will want to paste the text as a PNG image.
3. Once you’ve pasted the text, delete the text box and reposition the PNG image in the same position.
4. Text as a PNG image enables resizing
5. You’ll want to group (Ctrl + G) the PNG image with the other object(s) and then resize the grouped object while holding down the Shift key so you maintain the proportion of the object.
