Grumble grumble....variables

I am growing to have a love/hate relationship with variables.  While they allow me to have learners go where I want them to in modules (choose your role, then it shows what they should have based on the variable that was adjusted by that button), I have to lock down the course more just in case they go back and change, or have to write any buttons that change a true/false to 'undo' the other variables that are changed by buttons.  If I miss one, then it can turn into a messed up course for the learner, and more phone calls for me!

But...they allow me to do SO MUCH MORE in courses with branching in a way that seems completely seamless to the learner.
