Guide colors

Feb 16, 2022

The images I am working with are all screenshots of a system that has a dark gray background. Is there any way for me to adjust the color of the guides or gridlines so that I can actually see them? I really need to use them, but the constraints of my images are giving me headaches.  I saw a discussion from a few years ago where someone was going to recommend this for future enhancement. Was this done?

I don't know any way to change the color of the guides.

Another option: Add bright, thin lines at your guide points. I recommend extending them beyond the edge of the slide, so they're easier to grab. Then you either use the eye icon to hide them, or delete them when you're sure you won't need them anymore.

  • You could put them on the Master layout, and they'll show on the slide, but not beyond the slide edges. And they'll always appear behind whatever you put on the slide.

Depending on what you need to line up, you could also do it by adjusting the X and/or Y positions:
