Hangman game

Mar 10, 2014

Hi folks,

I've attached my Storyline file here. I'm trying to create a hangman game, when the user clicks on the correct letter it shows in the proper place. But when the user clicks on a letter that is not part of the puzzle I would like one piece of the guy to show. I've set this up using a variable. Add 1 to "hangman1" when user clicks the wrong letter. So if "hangman1" = 1, then the head should show. For some reason it's not working as expected. I only have this partially built as I was just trying to test for functionality. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Jackie,

I'm by no means an expert, but I will give you my suggestion (which sseems to work for me).  You now have the state (of "head", for example) to change when the timeline starts if the variable "hangman1" is 1.  However, since the project is designed on one slide, the timeline starts as soon as you open the project (and hangman1= 0).

So- I would recommend adding a variable +1 to hangman1 for all your "incorrect" buttons (as you've already started).  However, instead of having the the state of the body change when the timeline starts, have the state of the body change when the variable hits a certain #.

Eg: for the head:

Change the state of head- "Oval" to Normal when hangman1 changes If hangman1 is equal to or greater than 1.

for the body:

Change state of bidy" Snip same..." to Normal when hangman1 changes If hangman 1 is greater than or equal to 2

etc. etc.

I'm not sure if this is the fastest, best, or most efficient way, but it seems to work
