Having Trouble Pasting Text
Dec 29, 2014
Ever since I upgraded to Storyline 2, I've been having issues pasting text from external sources into Storyline, particularly on projects that were upgraded from Storyline 1 to 2. I can copy text, and I know it's on my clipboard because I can paste it into other documents, but when I try to paste it into a text box in Storyline, nothing happens.
I can still copy text from Storyline and paste it elsewhere, but Storyline doesn't seem to recognize that I have text on my clipboard when I try the reverse. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Hi Stephanie!
I'm not aware of any other users reporting this issue nor am I able to reproduce on an upgraded file of my own.
Please be sure that you are utilizing the latest update of Storyline 2 and if you already are, then I would advise a repair.
Stephanie,
I too am having that problem. Currently I am building a question bank and I can't paste copy into the question field. I have to first paste the copy in an answer field then cut it from there and paste it into the question field. Though, this only happens when I insert a new question via the Graded Question button from the Home tab; if I insert a new slide and select a question type from there I do not encounter this problem. It is driving me crazy!
Hi Diane!
This thread is a bit dated. Can you confirm that you are using the latest update? Is this issue happening in any file or just one in particular?
Yes, I am using the latest version of Storyline and it is not isolated to one file. My co-worker is not experiencing the same issue. I have also been having issues with my registration of my license. Every time an update is pushed I have to re-register my software license.
Thanks for the details Diane!
We do expect you to have to click to activate and register each time - even I have to do that after an update.
I would advise for you to conduct the repair listed in this documentation to see if this alleviates the issue you are having.
