Having trouble pausing a slide until the participant clicks next
Sep 25, 2015
I am working on a lesson where I want the user to click next when they want to proceed. This happens in 2 different scenarios for a total of 4 times in the lesson. For the rest of the lesson lesson the slide progresses on it's own automatically.
For one scenario I want the user to select next when they are ready for the video. When I preview the lesson it proceeds when the timeline is finished. Please see the trigger settings in the screenshot below and tell me what I am missing.
In the second scenario, I ask the participant to hover over some tabs for more information and to click next when they are done. I set the content for the tab as layers. But I want the learner to control when they are ready to progress, but the slide automatically progresses when the timeline is finished. Please see the trigger settings in the screenshot below and tell me what I am missing.

Hi Leatrice!
Sounds like you may have your slide properties set to advance automatically. Be sure to change them to By User.
If you need us to take a look, you are welcome to share your .story file here.
so if i turned that off, do i need to add a trigger for it to advance on click?
Based on the screen shots you've shared above, looks like you already have triggers for what the Next button does :)
Duh! LOL. And it's working. Thanks so much. so much better than my adding extra time to the end of he slide work around
Glad to hear it Leatrice :) Happy Friday to you!
