Having trouble with multiple triggered actions.
Jan 12, 2015
I'm having issues with triggering multiple events on a single user click - is this something that can't be done?
In the attached story, slide 2.1 has a lot going on. There's a screenshot with multiple hotspots. Each hotspot has an associated border.
When clicked, each hotspot should:
- Take the user to an associated slide for that hotspot
- Change the state of the associated border from "Normal" to "Visited."
I can get the states to flip, but when that works the "Jump to Slide" trigger doesn't fire, and vice-versa.
At the same time, I've used a Number Variable to put together a 'completion' graphic, and that doesn't seem to be working at all. Each time a user clicks from a 'child' slide to go back to Slide 2.1, that click should increment the completion variable, which should in turn shift the state of each step of the graphic from 'Hidden' to 'Normal,' and that doesn't seem to be working either.
Can anybody take a look at this and let me know what I'm doing wrong? I'm about 4 days into learning Storyline2, so I assume I'm overlooking something...

Can you upload the .story file, instead of only the published content?
Ah, yeah.
Hi Justin
see updated story file if that is what you are after.
Trigger order is important, as is where objects are on the timelines i.e hotspots have to be on top otherwise they never trigger.
Also with the Dash complete variable if you add the reference to the page you are working on you can see when it is and isn't working. You must set the variable when the timeline starts so that it knows to 'start counting'.
I have updated some of the triggers not all so you can see what has to happen.
Hope this helps - shout out with any questions.
Hi Wendy,
Ah-ha! Thanks very much. I was wondering if it might be something along those lines, but I was shuffling things around in the Triggers panel, not in the timeline. I'll be sure to post again if I have any questions about your edits.
Thanks again,
Justin
Thanks for jumping in to help Wendy.
Glad the ideas worked for you Justin, and welcome to the community!
