Help Building an Interactive Action Plan

I am trying to create a compliance module that captures information from managers using short answers questions. I want to change a button's color on the main menu to show how many of the questions have been answered. (There are no right or wrong answers they simply need to fill it in.) How can I create a trigger based on completion of the short answer questions that will change the state of the button? While still allowing the learner to move at their own pace through the module, skipping and coming back to short answers when they need to?

You may find most of your answers in this thread: Change state of button to complete only when all quiz questions in a section have been submitted
Just to add to what Matthew shared - the variable will change in the text entry when that element "loses focus" - so that user would have to click outside the text entry or "submit" it using the enter key. So you may want to keep that in mind in regards to how your trigger will behave.
That's something I've seen people talk about doing with Javascript - real time in terms of updating those elements.
Hi Matthew,
I can't think of a recent one, and in a quick search none of my keywords were popping it up - I'll try to keep digging, but it's one of those things that is way over my head anyway!
