Help creating text variable interaction

Hi - I'm trying to create an interaction which uses at text variable at the start of the course (this is data about where the learner is based). The idea is if the learner clicks an email address further on in the course it will email a support account based on the location they inputted.

I.e. 'text variable'' = Sydney --> emails sydney.support@company.com

I think I have done some of the steps correctly, but not 100% sure - can anyone list the process for how to create an interaction like this?
