Help! Error initializing communications with LMS

Hello there,
I'm hoping someone can help me because I have exhausted all my resources to date. I have an eLearning module I created with Storyline. The course is working correctly and my Java is installed correctly. The LMS does require Java, but that is all in order. If I open it and complete it and close it, all is well. I only have an issue when I close it before finishing it and try to relaunch it. I get an error. See attached image.

Hi Angela!
If your LMS automatically launches courses in a separate browser window, do not configure your Articulate content to also launch in a new browser window. Otherwise, you may encounter an LMS communication error.

The message you are seeing is basically saying that the content can't communicate with the LMS. You can duplicate this error simply by double clicking the index_lms.html file in the published output outside of your LMS.
I would ask your LMS what their system requirements and make sure the end-user's computers meet those. For example, if your LMS requires Java Runtime Environment make sure that they are using a compatible version - looks like you already checked this, but it would be a good idea to make sure there's not something else that might be failing when viewing the course a second time.
If the problem continues, you might want to test the course in SCORM Cloud.

I did all that you recommended and confirmed the issues with the LMS you brought up and the solution didn't work. We are still encountering the same issues and getting the same error.

Our LMS team here escalated the issue with Plateau's iContent Service Provider and they came back with this:
For some reason when you relaunch the course it is not sending the student ID or course ID to the LMS and this is required information so without it you are getting the error. You need to go back to Articulate and ask how you can change this content to ensure it sends this information on relaunch.
I have the very specific code they used to come to this conclusion.
I am using the latest version of Storyline.
I will go ahead and submit a support case today.

The instructions you sent don't seem to work for my Storyline project. I don't see any options for Select Send -> Articulate Package when I click the MS Office Button in PPT 2007.

Oh goodness, I'm so sorry. I gave you the wrong information. It should've been for the .STORY file, not the package! I apologize.
I do see that you were able to submit a case, however (#00343799 for my reference) and that John is currently working with you on this.

Hi Sij! I checked on the case referenced above, and it seems that it was specific to this users environment. She stated:It seems the issue is with Java 25 and our version of the LMS, Plateau.

Got a same problem with my PRINCETON REVIEW PORTAL which prompted "Error Initializing communication with LMS" and here is the reason why it should've caused
1. There might have been a registry error in your pc (in case of mine) while loading content which would've been crashed by some unknown mean.
2. Maybe you might 've downloaded Java (64-bit) for a 32-bit browser or vice-versa.
Solution :
In order to get rid of this problem please perform a PC Tune Up with software such as 1. AVG TuneUP ( in my case ),
2. Re-image etc.,
These software would clear the break-downs in your system registry etc., would be repaired. And then you would not find any error initializing communication with LMS etc.,.If you need a link to download those software for free please contact me through my mail "manoj19.shekar@gmail.com".
