Help me flesh out a branching idea?

Apr 19, 2018

I'm doing a training activity with someone who hasn't used storyline 360 before, and we came up with this neat theme for lesson we're doing on a machine that dispenses sugar. I have this idea but my knowledge in storyline is only about 7 months, and I am not sure if I can make what I am envisioning.

I'd like to make a branching section, where each branch is a process for cleaning the machine. What I am thinking is the main menu page where each item will branch from would be some kind of sugary treat like a pie, cake, donut, cookie etc. Something round.

What I'd like to have happen is that the interactive menu would be each piece of the cake. You'd click the piece, and it would branch to that task and when you're finished you'd be re-directed back, and that piece would be gone. So I am assuming this means each piece would act like a button trigger that directs you to the appropriate slide, and the piece would be hidden after clicking?

I am trying to mock this up to see if I can actually do it with triggers and built in storyline images. If anyone has any suggestions for me I'd really appreciate.

It looks good in my head, but having trouble making it happen in real life. ;) If anyone knows of any templates that might work for this let me know, I have been searching.

Thanks!
