Help needed on course videos

Hi there.
I am having problems with a new Storyline 2 course that features a number of videos. The course is posted on our learning management system, Taleo.
The videos are sitting on our external media server. As in the past, I am having users click a play button and having the videos launch in a new window. In IE, the functionality works fine because the videos launch in Windows Media Player. In Chrome, the videos are launching on top of the course shell. Users believe the course has closed and are relaunching the course each time they play a video. This has led to ongoing frustration by our end users.
Are there any recommendations?

Hi, Kim -- Thanks for your reply, but if you intended to send a file or attach a link, unfortunately it did not come through (as can happen when you reply via email).
And actually, if the file is quite large, perhaps it would be most helpful if you were able to share a pared-down or abbreviated version that exhibits only the issue, rather than the entire file, as that would expedite the testing process.
And if you could share the smaller file via this form, I will reply as quickly as I can!
