Thanks Teg for your patience while we dig back into this one. I'm glad you've got a workaround in the meantime, but it's definitely a lot of work for you! 😕 We'll keep you posted here and in your support case.
We don't have an update for Storyline 3 yet that fixes this issue - the schedule of that varies from the Articulate 360 updates. We'll keep you posted here once there is more info to share!
Storyline 360 will generally be ahead of perpetual versions of Storyline. The initial release of Storyline 3 did include a few bug fixes that were included later in the Update 5 of Storyline 360.
If continuous feature updates are important to you, then we recommend you consider Articulate 360, which includes Storyline 360. Storyline 360 will always be latest version of Storyline and is continuously updated with new features.
Sorry if I wasn't clear! We're still releasing fixes to Storyline 3 - just not on the same schedule of Articulate 360. So the next update of Storyline 3 would have the fixes that you're reading about in Update 6 of Articulate 360.
With the subscription model we're able to push fixes out on a more regular basis, but we're still going to release updates and fixes for Storyline 3.
Hello all. I have had the same issue and just found a work around solution that I need to do with another software I use. Open Notepad, copy and paste the script in there. Now that it is in the Notepad you can copy and paste back into SL360 Notes and the end is no longer cut off. Agree publishing to Flash first will cause issues for those that default to html5. Hope this helps!!!
Hi there Sharon! We've released a fix for this issue in both Storyline 360 and Storyline 3, so this shouldn't be plaguing you anymore. Are you using Storyline 360 Build 3.8.13087.0? Here's how to check:
Open Storyline 360
Click the Help tab
Click About Storyline
Check the number in the bottom-right corner of the pop-up window
Is there any report of this issue of text in the notes pane being cut off on the right happening in Flash output with the latest release? I've received reports of this happening on two projects that have used the latest release of SL360—only in the Flash version of the output.
I wanted to personally follow up on Leslie's post above that we just released another update for Articulate 360, and it includes a fix for the issue where the right edge of the notes text would cut off in Flash output.
Simply launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for each application. Details here.
Please let us know if you have any questions, either here or by reaching out to our Support Engineers directly.
We’ll be releasing a new update for Storyline 3, which will include a fix for this issue, in the coming weeks. We marked this thread to make sure we personally follow up here with you as soon as it’s available.

i am having the same issue
Hi Lee,
Sorry you're running into this! Are you using Storyline 360 or Storyline 3?
SL3
As far as I am aware they fixed it in SL360 but not in SL3.
Thanks, Lee. I'll be sure to add your experience to the SL3 report, and you'll be notified as soon as we get more information on a fix!
Where is the update on this fix for SL3?

Hi Ashley,
SL3 was effectively the same product at launch as SL360, so I do not understand why the same fix was not rolled out.
Unless this is the 'perk' of being a subscriber to 360.
Thanks
Jake

Hi Ashley,
I don't think paying a continual subscription over a one-off cost is justification to fix a couple of bugs in the software that shouldn't be there.
We don't charge our clients extra to fix issues with courses, it is OUR responsibility to make sure they work.
Thanks
Jake

Great news! We just released an update for Storyline 3, and included a few important fixes that you'll see in the release notes here.
The item you'll be interested in is how we fixed how the right edge of notes text could be cut off in HTML5 output.

Hi Mike! I cannot say that I'd seen that, but I am certainly able to re-create the behavior you've described in a new file.
I see that it has been reported to our team as well, so I'm going to get this thread attached along with my short video of the issue and my test file.
That will allow me to update you here when I can.

When will this fix (as well as all the other fixes) be applied to Storyline 3?
Thanks

Good news! I'm excited to let you know that we just released update 3 for Storyline 3! It includes new features and fixes - check them all out here.
One of the fixes addresses an issue where the text in the Notes panel was cut off by the scroll bar.
Here’s where you can download and install the latest version of Storyline 3. Let me know how you make out!
