Help Please....Triggers setting States

Jan 09, 2019

Can I ask a Hero to take a look at the attached .story file? My intention is to show a visual after Menu items that have been not just selected but completed.  I have triggers set up but cannot get to the result I need.   On the Main Menu I would like the red icon to be replaced with the green check mark, the icon is working but, I can't get the green check mark to change states.   Any help would be much appreciated.

thank you,

Thank you for the quick response but I am confused, On slide 1.2 wouldn't I now have two 'when timeline starts' triggers for the same object? One to be hidden and one to be normal?  Since the slides have audio I did not want to restart the timeline.  I don't understand how the checkmark knows to change states based on what happens on slide 1.3? thank you

Hey Kelly,

You could have two 'when timeline starts' triggers with one tied to a variable adjustment as well.

You can set the initial states of objects in the States panel:

So, for your checkmark you can set the Initial state to Disabled - you do not need a trigger for that.

For your Qual icon, the initial state is set to Normal, so you do not need a trigger to say the same thing.

In addition, I adjusted the triggers as Michael shared above to reflect the when timeline starts and it seems to be working as expected:

Your updated file is attached - I only worked on the first item, Qualified Workers.
