Help w/ Quiz

Nov 06, 2012

Hi All!

I've created the attached scenario in Storyline.  I can't get the Click & Drag Quiz to work properly.

Also the two slides for the quiz are in the wrong place and I can't get them to move to the end.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Dan,

I have looked at your Click and drag and the problem with it is that the "Submit interaction" trigger is not there.

So you just have to create a trigger saying : Submit interaction Click and Drag when user clicks the Submit button.

Also, for the order of the slides, the problem is that the triggers pointing to the "Next slide" will go in accordance with the numbering of the slides. My suggestion is to manually change the triggers on the slides to jump to the right slide.

Hope it helps and don't hesitate to post back if you need more information.

Have a nice day!

Hi Dan,

For step 1 - submitting the quiz...

On your quiz slide, add the following trigger :

Then, to change the trigger on the next button :

Add the following trigger to slide 1.8 :

On slide 1.8 you didn't have a trigger on the next button, this is why I created a new one. Otherwise, you could simply modify the existing "Next button" trigger to meet your needs.

Hope it helps, don't hesitate to post back if you need further information.

Have a nice day!

Hi Dan,

A few things, go to Edit Word Bank. Make sure that the radio button for the right answer is activated. On the original file (the one uploaded at the beginning of the thread) it is not.

Then, to allow your learner to try each answers make sure the number of attempt is at least 3.

Also, on your feedback layer, you had a trigger using a variable that I don't think is necessary/useful.

Just make sure that on the 2 "Incorect layer" you delete the trigger saying to "jump to next slide" so they are brought back to the quiz.

You should only have the "hide this layer" on the incorrect feedback layers and "hide this layer" and "jump to next slide" for the correct one.

Hope it helps and don't hesitate if you need more information. English is not my first language so sometimes I feel like I may not be as "understandable" as I would like to.

Hi Annie,

Your English is just fine.

I on the other hand must be losing my mind.

I created this Scenario on June 29, 2012, haven't looked at it or used Storyline since...and I can't remember how I created it.

Regarding your answer:

I am confused and do not know how to follow your directions.

But Thanks, last time the Screen shot helped a lot.

Take Care,

Dan

Hi Dan,

So here are the steps to edit the properties of your Word bank :

Make sure the right answer is activated in the "Correct" Column.

Modify the number of attempts to at least 3 since you have 3 possible answers.

For the Incorrect layer, make sure you only have the "Hide this layer" trigger.

Hope it helps. Post back if you need more info.
