Help with a Drag and Drop?
Oct 23, 2017
Hi Folks!
I am trying to create a drag and drop assessment question, but having some issues.
In the screen shot, what I'd like to have happen is that the student has to drag the applicable item into the right hand side.
The trick I am having is that it only accepts it as correct if the right hand side answers are in a particular order. But I would like it to accept it regardless of the order- so long as it's still the correct items.
I am thinking instead of having individual boxes I may need one giant box?
Any suggestions for me on how I can achieve this?
(Due to the nature of the content I had to block it out for the client )

Hey thank you that helped!
How do you get the items to snap into place so they don't overlap?
This is what I am getting so I think I am missing a step/setting. (see attached)
thank you!
Oh nevermind I figured it out! Thanks so much for the help with this!
I am so thankful for this template it helped me a lot.
I am wondering if anyone knows how to make the drag and drop "reset" if the learner gets the incorrect answer? I'd love to have the items snap back to their original location if someone does it wrong.
thanks!
For a reset, you need to manually set a screen trigger up so the slide gets revisited (reloaded) and everything will go back to its original state.
Having a "Reset" option for the Drag & Drops is a feature request. I've been waiting to see that one added to the program for a long time.
Bob, that would be great and would help alleviate the refreshing of the page. Especially with entry animations or transitions, reloading the page can get problematic quickly.
Another function I'd like to see is being able to pick a specific number of items that can be dragged to another item. Right now you get one or as many as there are. In the solution given, the instructions say to drag six items. It would be great if when you tried dragging the seventh item it either wouldn't snap in, allowed some kind of error message to flash, or knocked out one of the other objects.
These are great ideas, Bob and Jesse! Thanks for letting us know what you'd like to see in future Storyline updates. And in case you're wondering what we do with all of the feature ideas we receive, here's an inside look. :)
