Help with applying master slides

Nov 09, 2015

Hi there,

I'm trying to do some work on a very old Articulate project to update it's look and feel. I think it was originally done in Articulate 09.

I've opened (imported) the project in the latest version of Storyline (Storyline 2, update 7), and I've edited the Master Slides to change the font.

When I apply the new layout to the old slides, it does not change the font to the new one I've specified. A new background colour I chose is working correctly on all slides, but the font is not. I suspect the old files have some style applied directly to text boxes, but I can't find a way to reformat the slides so that they take the new style.

If I *add* a new slide, it follows the style rules I've applied, and will even change font if I change it in the master. But this doesn't happen on any of the old imported slides, even after applying a layout to it.

Any suggestions for what I'm missing?

There's 44 slides in this project, and I don't want to format each one individually, especially if I'd have to do the same thing over again if I ever change anything else.

Thanks Matthew,

I didn't think to try that. I've imported the project into Storyline 1 and the master slides are behaving much better. I still have some manual tweaking to do, but it's not so bad. Once I'm done, I'll try opening in Storyline 2 and see what happens.

BTW, Some content that Storyline 2 was able to import (like videos) seems to be missing in the files I opened in Storyline 1. Oh well. We can't have it all ;)
