Help with exporting survey/essay questions - print results button

Jan 28, 2020

Good morning!

I am hoping that someone can help me here  -

I am currently building several courses where users will be stopped and prompted to enter their thoughts and responses as an "essay" question.

My trouble comes when I try to "print results" - it opens it in a web page which seems okay if you are trying to print. You can right click and choose the "print" option. But what if I want to save it and come back to it later to print? Is there any way to change this somewhere in the settings? Ideally, it would be nice to save as a pdf, etc so that it could easily be emailed to a faculty member or save to a folder on my computer and pull up more easily without the need for a web browser.

Also, the spacing on the actual page seems off. The question is short but taking up most of the page - the learners response is then squeezed into the right hand side, making it somewhat difficult to read. Is there anything that can be done about adjusting the column width?

Thanks so much in advance,

Ashleigh

Hi, Ashleigh!

The options for printing to saving are dependent on the browser settings, so it's not something you can control within Storyline. Often there is an option to "print to PDF" so you may want to check if you see anything like that in your environment.

As for editing the display of your questions and answers, it's something you may be able to accomplish using custom Javascript. We have some info outlined in this article on how to modify that report.html file for use as a certificate, but for more specifics, I'll have to rely on our Javascript experts in the community!
