Can you upload your zipped output to SCORM Cloud to see if the same behavior happens in that LMS environment? If you'd like to attach your project file here, I'm happy to help with testing.
As a workaround, could you use a text entry / fill in the blank question to capture your learner answer? Or are you seeing the same effect with that slide type too?
