Help with Storyline 2

Nov 22, 2016

Hello All!  I am working on a presentation in which I have added a convert to freeform text box.  I see the following message: "set textentry equal to the typed value when the control loses focus".  What does this mean as it is my first time using a text entry box?

I noticed that when I preview the slide and attempt to type into it and then hit enter, it advances my slide automatically, and that is not what I want to happen.  I want to be able to hit enter to move the cursor to the next line.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

set textentry equal to the typed value when the control loses focus = Set the textentry variable to whatever the user typed in the box when the cursor is no longer in the box.

"No longer in the box" usually means they have clicked somewhere else on the screen.

I'm not sure why the presentation is going to the next slide on enter. Maybe add a new Data Entry control and see if it works as expected for that one?
