I am using music with voice over and have tried reduce the volume of the music through the edit function. However, no matter what I do the volume remains the same when I preview.
Also, on the same project I have set up triggers for various characters attached to Que Points, however, when previewing nothing happens.
It sounds like you've got a few quirky things happening in your file. Would you mind sharing it with me so I can take a closer look? You can attach it here in a new reply.
I heard a significant decrease in the Audio 3 "Recorded" file when I decreased the volume by 99%. After making that change and previewing the slide, I could hear the music quietly playing in the background, and the narrator's voice was clear.
You can watch the steps of this process in this quick video demo. Keep in mind the Storyline audio wasn't captured well in this recording, so you won't hear the audio in the recording as well as you will when you're testing it yourself.
I used the volume slider in the Audio Editor to decrease the volume by 50%. Now the background music plays quietly behind the narrator audio, and I can hear the narrator clearly.
I've attached slide 3 here so you can import it into the larger presentation, if you'd like.

Hi Christopher!

Also, what version of Storyline are you using?
Story line three
Hi Christopher!
I've got your file open now, and I can see there are multiple slides with multiple audio files on each one.
Can you point me to the slide with the audio file that has a volume error? Also, which slide has characters triggered to appear at various cue points?
Hi
I solved the triggers, sometimes they do not play correctly during preview.
The first three slides are the main one with volume issue. Especially the rifts. No matter what I do the music rather than the dialogue come s out.
I have tried to reduce the music so it plays in the background and also reduce the speaking part a little as its very load.
This happen over the first 3 to four slide s bu the first is the worst
Alyssa,
Hi, any update? Sorry, I know I did not reply to your query in a timely fashion but I am eager to get the training published.
Thank you

I hope that's helpful!
Thank you, I will try it

Hi Christopher,
I used the volume slider in the Audio Editor to decrease the volume by 50%. Now the background music plays quietly behind the narrator audio, and I can hear the narrator clearly.
I've attached slide 3 here so you can import it into the larger presentation, if you'd like.
