Here's a weird one - Inserting an arrow shape...

Jun 13, 2012

Hi,

Would appreciate someone testing this to see if it's just me, or whether can be replicated:

1> Insert a shape - an arrow, left to right.

2> Highlight it and go to Format.

3> Increase the Height, click by click.

If I do that, it starts to drop the right hand side down. Not really sure whether this is right or wrong, it just seems weird!

Not even sure it's a bug now - but if someone can replicate I would at least check my sanity.

Thanks

Bruce

Hi Bruce,

I just tried it and to me, it is a bug... you are suppose to increase the height of the shape, not rotate it (insert weirdo face here)!!

I would expect the height to work as the weight of the shape otherwise, I think that this formatting option shouldn't be available for that type of shape.

Well, hope it helps in a certain manner.

Have a nice day!

Hi Bruce,

I can't replicate it I'm afraid. Not sure if you mean that it is rotating downwards?

It does seem to me that the top part of the arrow head moves laterally just before the bottom part 'catches up'. Again this may be an optical illusion!

(It could be that you have been working too hard)

Yes - to everything...

Thanks Annie - I'm not as mad as I had thought......

Hi Bruce,

The first arrow I tried was a block arrow - works fine, but then I tried the arrow under the "Lines" section and bingo - duplicated it.

I guess this could be a bug, but I wonder if it has something to do with this being a "Line" rather than a "Shape."   If you want to change "height" of this without bugs - go to the Shape Outline menu and select "weight."

Bruce the bug locator!
