Hide slide master content on specific slides?

Dec 29, 2014

Hi,

Does anyone know if it’s possible to hide slide master content on specific slides? And if it’s possible to controll the content so it gets placed ”in the back” rather than on top of regular slide content?

My course navigation is pretty much linear from start to finish, but two of the slides branches out to other ”dead end slides” (once visited, you return to the original path). The navigation is set so that it’s impossible to navigate to the next chapter until you’ve visited all of the branching slides in the previous chapter. Once a chapter is finished I’d like to mark it as completed by adding a check mark in the navigation menu. I’ve placed the check marks as layers on the master slide and trigger them to show by changing the state on chapter variables from false to true. It all works fine, except I’d like to hide the check marks on the first and last slide. Also, I’d like the marks to place themselves BEHIND the regular slide content and not in top of it.

Is this possible? I'll attach my file if anyone wants to take a look :)

Hi Towa,

If you wanted to hide specific elements you'd need to look at changing the state of the elements to "hidden" based on the value of a variable set on the slide or when the slide's timeline starts. Also, slide master elements will appear behind base slide elements as a default, but your checkmarks that you're showing are on a layer - and layers will appear above base layers. You could use those checkmarks on the base layer of your slide master if you used the hidden state instead. It may help to take a look at the information here on the built in states and how to work with variables.
