Hiding a button

Oct 25, 2012

Hello everyone,

I am running into a dead end and thought I would turn to the forum for help. I am trying to figure out how to hide a button once a user clicks on it.

I have a scenario set up where the user can choose between two roles within the organization. Once the user clicks which role best fits him/her it takes them to a slide that includes a quiz the user can take (the same quiz for both roles). At the end, I give the user the option to go through the modlue as the other role, but I don't want them to be able to take the quiz again since it's the same one. I am trying to figure out a way to hide this button if they choose to go through the module again as the other role.

Any ideas? Thanks so much.

Hi Tara,

I don't know if it is exactly what you need but you could simply add a trigger to your buttons that says "Change state of Button1 *EDIT to Hidden* when User clicks Button2" and then, you set the properties of this slide to "Resume saved state".

Does it help? Don't hesitate to post back if you need further information.

Thanks Annie for your suggestion. I do have a question though. The quiz buttonĀ one the slide is the same button that advances the user to the quiz (and the only option to advance through the module). I wanted every user to take the quiz so that is why I set it up this way. So should I add another button, or is there a way I can do this on one button? I tried changing the state of the button to hidden when user clicks it, butĀ  when I do that, it doesn't advance the user to the quiz, it just hides the button.

Hi Tara,

You can also add another trigger to the same button to Jump to slide (x) when users clicks that same button.

Just make sure, in the trigger panel that the trigger to change the state is before the one to jump to quiz.

Triggers order is really important.

Don't hesitate if there's anything else we can do to help you.

Thank you so much Annie. That makes a lot of sense. I wasn't aware that you can move the order of the triggers. I did get it to work quiz button to advance the user and hide in the same role, but when you click on the second role, the button is still there (they are both on separate slides). Is there a way I can do this for the second role?
