High data usage for Moodle and scorm packages

Nov 18, 2016

Hi Everyone

I'm part of an Institution that offers qualifications to students using a blended learning approach.

Currently there are activities embedded in Moodle, and there seems to be apprehension over developing material using Articulate - as this may result in high data bills/usage when the learner accesses the scorm packages. Although there is the option for offline viewing, this would mean manually updating their completion on Moodle.

Has anyone experienced similar issues? Any insights regarding data usage for Moodle activities vs articulate scorm packages would be appreciated.

Kind Regards

The Moodle Mobile app allows users to download the SCORM package while on-campus and then complete the SCORM offline, and syncing completion status/tracking information back to your site when internet connection is available again.

Other than that - you probably need to make sure you are optimising any video files you embed within your SCORM package - I'm not sure what tools Articulate provides to help you with that.
