But doesn't that mean that every text I would like to show and be able to copy, I will need to upload it to a server?

That is a messy workaround...

You won't be able to copy and paste the text within a published Storyline file unless using a method such as what Michael shared. 

I'm looking for a similar solution (as a workaround to a problem). The link above doesn't appear to be active anymore. Wondering if anyone has an active link or other example they could point me to?
