Hot spot question wont work in MS Edge

Nov 09, 2018

Hi,

I am having problems with hot spot questions within MS Edge. If I configure it so the trigger is 'Submit interaction Hotspot When the user clicks the submit button' I am finding that no matter where the user clicks on the page (correct place or incorrect place) they are always presented with 'Incorrect ...'

I have tried the same hot spot question in Firefox, Chrome and IE and it works fine. It is only MS Edge where I have issues (38.14393.1066.0).

Unfortunately my customer only has access to MS Edge so I can't work around this issue by telling them to use another browser.

Is this a known problem and if so, are there any known solutions or workarounds?

Thanks,

Tom

Hi Alyssa,

Thanks for coming back to me. Yes please keep me updated.

Unfortunately we only have only have the option of using HTML 5 as we have restrictions on using Flash within the organisation. I think for now, we will have to remove the Hot spot Q's and go with a different question type.

Any idea how long before this bug will be looked into and resolved?

thanks

Tom

Great news, folks! We fixed the issue where hotspot questions did not evaluate correctly. Specifically, when viewing the HTML5 output on Microsoft Edge.

Here's how you can update Storyline 360 to see all the latest features and fixes!

If this issue resurfaces, please record a Peek 360 screencast for me. I'll be happy to help!
