Hotpot issue in Chrome

Oct 22, 2018

Hi,

Users must click on flashing arrows to display more information. The flashing arrows appear when using IE but not with Chrome. The client is using Chrome.

Help.

Thank you.

Hi there, Celine. So sorry the animation isn't appearing in Chrome.

I did some testing on the latest update of Storyline 2 (I recall you mentioning that's the version you're on 😊), and I believe I'm seeing what you're describing in the HTML5 output.

Check out this quick Peek recording. Does that capture what you're seeing? If so, we've seen reports where animated gifs with a state and associated trigger do not work in the HTML5 output. I'm going to add this discussion to the report, so we can keep you posted here with any new information.

Let me know if you see something different on your side. We'll keep digging!

Thanks, Celine. No ETA on a fix yet, but I promise we'll keep you in the loop with all updates here once we have them. Scout's honor!

The current workaround is to use the Flash output; however, I can appreciate that might not be ideal. I've seen some folks mention that they were able to get around this issue by using a layer instead of a state to show a different version of the animated gif.

Thanks for continuing to reach out, and I'm sorry for any headaches!
