Hotspot messing up hover and user clicks

Dec 18, 2019

My hot spot acts weird when adding hover and click triggers.

I have a graphic with a hotspot - when mouse hovers over the hotspot, the state changes to highlight that the spot is clickable.  When user clicks hotspot - user jumps to layer.  Layer has these properties:

Obvi I want the highlighted state to restore on mouse leave.  The problem is on the layer, the normal state shows when I move my mouse away.  I thought when I hid the objects on the base layer that they wouldn't show.

I know it is probably something easy and I'm making this too complicated.  Please - any advice.

When you hover over the large icons, the blue highlight surrounds the icon.  Then click on the icon - it directs you to a layer. When you first land on the layer, everything looks fine.  Then if you move your mouse away the icons graphic appears again.  Thanks for any help!

Hey, Becky. Thanks for sharing your file!

I couldn't find any setting on the base layer that would cause it to appear. What seemed to work was:

  1. Unchecking the 'Restore previous state when the user hovers out' options.
  2. Adding a trigger to change the state to normal when the user clicks on each corresponding object.

Here's a short video walk-through of those adjustments with the modified file below. Let me know what you think!

Thanks!!!!!  I'm curious about something.

I'm new to 360.  Was there an easier way for me to share the file with you?  I noticed your video walk-through was done in Peek.  I've not had a chance to use that yet.  Could I have shared it using Peek to begin with instead of posting a .story file?

Again - thank you so much!

Hi Becky,

That's a great question! A Peek 360 video is a great way to explain something that you're seeing that may be harder to explain via text or perhaps for a visual issue you're experiencing.

Having the .story file to test replicating and understanding your particular set-up is just as important though :)
