In the attached file, slide 1 works exactly like I want it to.
However, when I tried to replicate this on slide 2, it does something wrong: namely, when the buttons are selected they still go to the hover state when the mouse rolls over them. I want this to work like the first slide does, so that when a button is selected its hover state will NOT activate.
I cannot find anything different to indicate why the first slide works and the second slide doesn't. Any ideas?
Hi, John -- I am also not sure that I am seeing where the issue is occurring. Can you please try a few things for me to rule out some common issues? Please make sure you are working locally as described here, and you may want to try importing the file into a new file. If you are still having issues, you might want to try to repair Storyline. Also, could you please ensure that you are utilizing the most recent SL2 Update? Info on Update 5 can be found here. Please let us know if issues persist.
Thanks for your replies. I think I'm not being clear enough -- my issue is that I do not want the hover state to work after the button has been selected. So, once the user selects it, it will NOT display the hover state. It will remain in "selected" state even if the user hovers over it.
This works perfectly on slide one, but on slide two the hover state continues to activate after the button is selected. I'm trying to figure out why the behavior is different.

The only thing that I cant think of is to make a selected layer instead of a state. but there is a whole lot of programming involved with doing something like that. I thik Christine is right though... something is wrong that one slide does it and another doesn't when you havent changed anything...
It turns out I have actually managed to solve the issue by deleting the hover states, and then re-creating them again. Now it does just what I want it to do.
I have exactly the same problem: I have some buttons in a button set and when I click on one button, the selected state doesn't appear when my mouse is on the button. In another slide it works perfect and I don't understand what makes it work or not. I have tried deleting hover state and then re-creating it, doesn't work.
After a lot of tests, it seems that if you change the color of the shape in the selected state, this color is not displayed when over the button, but if you change the stroke, the stroke is displayed... I don't know if it is a bug or not, but it is very strange.

Hi, thanks again Terry and Christie!
It turns out I have actually managed to solve the issue by deleting the hover states, and then re-creating them again. Now it does just what I want it to do.
Thanks for your help!
Fantastic, John -- glad to hear it, and thanks for sharing your update! :)
Hello,
I have exactly the same problem:
I have some buttons in a button set and when I click on one button, the selected state doesn't appear when my mouse is on the button.
In another slide it works perfect and I don't understand what makes it work or not.
I have tried deleting hover state and then re-creating it, doesn't work.
Any clue on this problem is welcome.

I don't know if it is a bug or not, but it is very strange.
