How can a lock a student into a quiz.

May 08, 2013

I know there has to do this. I want my students to go through the slides and then take a quiz after every 4th slide. What I don't know how to do is make it where the student cannot open the quiz a then go find the answer on the other slides? Does this make sense?

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Brian!

Are you including menu navigation in your course? If so, you could disable the menu for your quiz slides, so the learner can only click on "Submit" (depending on what button options you're including in your quiz). This way, they won't be able to jump around in the menu while they're in the quiz, but they can access the menu when they're viewing normal content slides.

You can disable the menu or navigational buttons for your quiz in the Slide Properties. To access these settings, click on the cogwheel icon while viewing your question in "Slide View", or in the lower right-hand panel of the question bank, if you're using a question bank.

Once you have the Slide Properties open, click on the drop down menu under "Player Features" and select "Custom for the selected slides". Here, you can disable the "Next", "Previous" and "Menu" options from the question slide.

Here's what it should look like:

Would this work for your course?
