How Can I Control Which Photos are Presented in a Scroll Panel?

Jun 24, 2015

I am working on a course to teach new sales people how to evolve a total solution from our catalog of components. I want to use a scroll panel in lightbox mode that will allow them to review the data they have entered and the available systems based on that data. To jazz things up a bit I would like to include actual photos of the systems under consideration.

There are 30 something images that could be used in various combinations which could lead to a very large number of slides to create and manage. What I would like to do is to construct a single slide that will present all of the content including the photos conditionally based upon the student inputs.

I can insert photos, apply labels, and add supporting text into the scroll panel and all is working well. Controlling the text is easy using variables and the standard triggers.  I have not however, figured out how to conditionally control the photos.

Does anyone know whether there is a way to control the presentation of photo/pictures?

Cheers,
Gordon

If I had allowed myself another 24 hours I would have already had an answer. Perhaps not the most elegant but, it works.

I created a conceptual 3x2 matrix in the scroll box. In the top row of each column I inserted identical stacks of product images. The images are properly sized to fit within the matrix cell and they are layered one over the other.

In the second row of each column I inserted identical stacks of text boxes consisting of the attributes that correspond to each of the images.

I then set the initial state for all images and text boxes to be "Hidden." I then used conditional triggers to determine which image and text boxes are visible in each column.

I then created a trigger that was repeated throughout the program that displays the presentation slide as a Lightbox slide allowing me to maintain only one slide with the benefit of dynamic content updates based on real-time student input.

Gordon
