How can I ensure that the learner goes through the entire course?

Dec 17, 2015

Hi All,

I'm creating an e-learning where the learner will click through the course until they come to a screen where they will then be presented with three images.

They will need to click on each image which will branch them off to a scene relevant to that photo, and then at the end they will loop back around to that slide to click the next picture.

I added a "continue" button to that slide which they would click once they have gone through all of the branched-off scenes to continue on with the course.

My question is:  can I someone set it up so the learner is not able to click the continue button until they have clicked each picture?  I don't want the learner to just click continue without clicking on each photo and going through the scene associated with it.

I hope this makes sense!  I appreciate any help/input.

Thank you!

Claudia

Hi Claudia, thankfully this is quite easy.

Firstly go to the state of your continue button and add another state as a 'disabled' state. You could change the look of this to be greyed out. Then change this button to have disabled as its initial state.

Then you could create a numerical variable that you add 1 too when you click each image and change the continue button to normal state when the variable is equal to or greater than 3.

hope that makes sense.

Hi, Claudia -- Thanks so much for reaching out with your question! In addition to John's suggestion, you may want to check out this information on How to Restrict or Lock Navigation Throughout Your Course, and here are some ways to Temporarily Hide or Disable Navigation Buttons, as well. Hope that helps, but please let us know if there is anything more you need!  :)
