How can I turn off or hide a cursor

Apr 14, 2018

Hi all

I have created a step by step exercise for students, using hotspots and text entry that jumps from slide to slide.

I want to use the same slides as used above to animate a video that the students can use if they need help. So I am using a cursor to move around the slides.

My problem is how can I hide the cursor if the student is completing the exercise.

1. I have tried putting the slide on a seperate layer, but the cursor goes on the base layer and then gets hidden by the layer on top

2. I have tried using an image following a path, but again not perfect as i want to show mouse clicks.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Gunilla,

I'm sorry you've hit this roadblock. It's often difficult to determine what an individual is running into without seeing their file, so that's why our team asks for files. It can often be something as simple as a change in the slide settings or triggers. When our team takes a look at the file we'll provide it back to you with any fixes and steps on what we did - always with the hope of teaching and help folks get back up and running as soon as possible!

I understand if you'd also rather not share your file, but since it's the best way for us to test and demonstrate the problem, we'd happily accept a .story project shared here privately or within any ELH discussion.

If it's something as simple as removing a mouse cursor action, click on the mouse cursor, a Mouse Toolbar opens up allowing you to uncheck "Show Click Effects, and "None" in clicks.

We're here to help, and at times we just need a bit more information!
