How’d he do that? Menu hidden by default

I was using one of Tom’s awesome templates, and in his published example, he has the player menu hidden by default, but the user can make it appear by clicking the menu button in the lower right corner. Here’s the link:

I can’t find the setting for this in the player. Is this some magic he manually created or can anyone do it?

Thanks. I've done that. However, I'm not really showing the menu, just the Notes which has closed captioning for a video that's on the slide. When the user opens it, the closed captioning covers the video. In the Presenter example, it opened to the side, but didn't obscure the content on the slide.
