How did he create copies of shapes just by dragging the original?

Thanks for your time.

Really impressed with AS so far, looks like being a brilliant bit of software.

My question. In the Tutorial about adding content to slides the instructor appears to create copies of shapes simply by dragging the original shape across the screen? How is he doing this? What black magic is this?

Tried different ways of dragging the shape. All it does is move. Muttered the same spell he uses "Copy these! Like I would do in power point!", but zero replication results.

Please tell me how he's doing this as it looks way easier and much cooler than using copy and paste.

Hi Kerry -

There are a few ways to copy objects in Storyline:

  • Press the CTRL key and, while holding the key, click-drag the shape
  • Click a shape to select it and then press CTRL-D to duplicate it
  • Click a shape to select it and then press CTRL-C to copy and then press CTRL-V to paste it
