How do I change from a lightbox to another slide?

May 27, 2014

I've taken over design of a package, and have realised that some of the problems with it are because some of the slides/layers are lightboxes.

For example, some questions are a lightbox, and the submit button does not show when it is published (although you can see it in preview)

Video has also been inserted on a lightbox, giving users the choice to close it via the little red cross, before they have watched it all. I'd like it to be on a slide where they're forced to watch it.

So how do I change theses layers so that they are no longer lightboxes, but normal slides?

Do I have to copy the content of each lightbox into another slide? I can't see a quicker way.

Hi Sarah,

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes!

Lightboxes are actually pulled from existing slides. What causes the lightbox is actually a trigger from the initial slide. So, all you'd really need to do is find the trigger on the slide before the lightbox and change it.

For example, for your video slide - the slide before that should have a trigger that says something like "Lightbox slide - then the slide name - when the user takes an action/action is completed", etc. If you change that trigger to "Jump to slide", it will simply open that content within the normal slide view.

Here are some resources that may help:

And if you have any trouble, just let us know!

Best,

Christine
