How do I create an interactive videoguide ?

Oct 28, 2016

Hi everyone,

I'm new to Storyline. I have been following some of the discussions here and all the helpful and experienced Storyline users :-) My company uses Storyline 1. Usually I use Adobe Captivate to create interactive videoguides, but now I want to try out Storyline.

Since I haven't any experience with Storyline I have tried to find examples and templates here that could get me started. But unfortunatly I haven't suceeded in finding anything.

Let me explain what I want to do and what I'm looking for.

When I say - Interactive Videoguide - I mean:

- Screencapture videos of an IT system showing functionalities and procedures

- A navigation front with a picture of the user interface - were you can click on different userface interface elements (tabs, buttons, drop downs ect.) and get a video with speak explaining the system.

- When the video has ended you return to the navigation user interface front-page, where you can choose a new part of the system, you want to explore.

Do any of you know of any templates that could help me get started ?

Do any of you have any experience in creating the above mentioned interactive videoguides ?

Hi Jesper!

Here's how to record screencasts and software simulations in Articulate Storyline.

In addition, you could add the interactive elements, such as buttons, you are mentioning that link to other slides/content and then come back to the front-page like you mentioned via triggers.

Hopefully someone in the community will be able to chime in with examples or assistance with your design. We do have a download section here if you'd like to check it out and here is a tutorial on adding video.
