I keep getting the same error when Importing or Browsing and open the .story file: THIS PROJECT CANNOT BE OPENED. IT WAS CREATED IN A NEWER VERSION OF STORYLINE. (Which is 100% incorrect). Help.
I need the exact steps to import .STORY file in to Storyline 2.
.STORY indicates this is a SToryline 3/360 file? I had NO IDEA! SO QUESTION: I thought .STORY was used on any files created by the original Articulate version??????
Yes, .story is used for all Storyline project files. I assumed your file had originally been authored in Storyline 3 or 360 because you said "Which is 100% correct". Where did you get the .story file that you are trying to open or import?
.story is used for Storyline files created in versions 1 through 360.
Files aren't backward compatible to earlier versions. So, Storyline 1 and Storyline 2 projects can be upgraded to Storyline 3, but Storyline 3 projects can’t be opened or edited with those earlier versions.
Storyline 360 projects can be opened and edited with Storyline 3 except when they include new features that exist only in Storyline 360. Storyline 3 projects can always be opened and edited with Storyline 360.
If you're not sure which version this .story file was created in - I am happy to test it for you. Upload your .story file here using the "add attachment" button.

I was under the impression that there is no way to open or import a Storyline 3/360 file into Storyline 2.
