How do I make these grouped items clickable?

Sep 08, 2016

Hi,

I have created a scrolling ribbon of assets that I am trying to make clickable so that learners can be directed down into separate branches. I currently have a black ribbon that extends past the viewable area with a motion path that is activated when the learner hovers over an up or down bar. My only problem is, since I grouped the buttons with the ribbon so that they scroll, they are no longer clickable...How would I make it such that the learner can click the individual cameras and get sent down a different path? Give it a shot and let me know. Thanks!

Thanks Michael! You have been very helpful with this over the last few days! So, I removed the scroll cover shapes, but it still seems broken. The variable 'Direction' will not change back to stop once I have stopped hovering over the 'Up' or 'Down' bar. Additionally, the animation continues until the limiter stops it rather than stopping when the mouse is no longer hovering over the navigation buttons. How do I make it so that the bar scrolls while the user is hovering over the up or down bar and stops when they stop hovering. They should also be able to click the images in the scroll bar...

Yes, simply moving the ScrollCover-Mid object beneath the ScrollingAssetRibbon group will break the logic. Since you can't add an object to a group, I had to rejig a few triggers to now use the Transparent Black Ribbon object for the stop action. See attached, I think that's what you wanted. For testing purposes, I added a slide and a trigger on the blue camera icon to verify that it can now be clicked AND the scrolling stops.
