How do i view results for Survey Questions in SumTotal

Sep 15, 2020

I have created a Quiz for our new Hire employees to take after they have taken a course and I have been asked to add Survey questions as well.  I would like to run a report in SumTotal based on the survey questions.  My LMS output options is SCORM 1.2 and we upload to SumTotal.  I see an evaluations report, however, when I ran a test in stage, my report is not showing up there.  Not sure if I am missing a step.  Can anyone help with this question.  I have seen a lot of other posts out there, but not sure that they tell you how to get the report.

Hi Kimberly,

Thank you for your post. I'm happy to help!

Storyline will send learner activity (including survey responses) to an LMS, but it's up to the LMS to determine how that information gets displayed back to administrators.

From here, I recommend checking in with the SumTotal team to see what reports you need to run to get that information.

Let us know what they suggest, and if there's anything we can do on our end!

Hi Kimberly,

You need an "Interaction Detail" report to pull the question/response-level data from SumTotal. That will include Storyline's Graded and Survey questions published to SCORM. I do not believe there are any out-of-the-box reports in SumTotal for interaction details. I haven't seen any if there are. The Evaluation report you mentioned is probably for SumTotal's built-in evaluation tool and will not pull SCORM interaction details. I do recommend publishing to SCORM 2004 3rd Edition instead of SCORM 1.2. That will provide better detail in the captured data for the report.
