I am combining English and French in one Storyline 2 course and need to change the default English text to French on the French slides. Storyline 2 defaults to add "Type text here" when you add a Text Entry box and I need to be able to change that. If there is not a way to change it, is there a way to hide it or remove this text altogether while still preserving the functionality of the Text Entry box?
Thanks, Leslie. I was able to change the default text directly in the data entry box. I thought I had tried this before, but must have been trying to change something else.

Further to David's query, I've tried changing this label to include text 'this information isn't being collected' at my client's request. But when I publish, the change hasn't been applied. Do you have any idea why this might be?
Great suggestion Matthew - although then there's the extra step for the learner of having to highlight that text first in order to change the variable value in the text field...
Yes that's exactly where I was editing the default text. Have done so previously in order to change selected labels to other languages and these worked fine. I've just added a caption underneath the text entry field for now, but still puzzled about why it wouldn't work.

Hello David - Great question. I'm assuming you are asking about a Data Entry > Text Entry Field
If so, you can simply edit the text directly in the box in your project file.
Sample attached. Sorry, no French here 😄

Hi Kimberley,
How are you trying to change this? Did you look at adjusting it within the player text labels here? Text entry default is row 121.
Hope that helps!

Hi Kimberley,
If we could take a look at your file that may help us figure it out! Upload it here using the "add attachment" button and we can play around with it.
