How to Allow Updates for Users Without Admin Privileges
Sep 27, 2019
Hello,
My company restricts admin rights for users so they cannot download software. Because of this they are not able to accept updates for Articulate 360 apps and thus not realizing the benefits of enhancements and bug fixes.
Our technology group has indicated that inclusion of a silent updater by Articulate is needed which I know is not currently available. They have tried to modify permissions of the applications registry (not just the file system) but this did not allow users the ability to update apps.
Does anyone operate in a similar enterprise environment that has been able to allow users to update apps without admin privileges? If so, what steps have you taken?
Appreciate any help!
Mike

Hi Mike,
Thanks for reaching out, and great call to open a support case! I see my teammate, Rowie, has replied and I just wanted to re-affirm that we're looking into the feature request for a silent updater.
We appreciate you adding your voice, and we'll continue monitoring customer feedback on this!
This is very annoying my IT department has to come over once a week to update. I am considering moving to Captivate again due to a lack of support for enterprise users and updates.
Hello Jesus!
Your IT department can deploy the MSI files which have been very convenient for our Enterprise customers.
I'm going to send over more details via email in a case! We'll continue the conversation there if you have any questions.
I had the same question and found this topic via Google search. A bit later I found out that there is a solution available since April 2020:
